As a high-end foundation lover, 2017 has indeed been a true revelation for me when it comes to drugstore foundation brands. Also, I blame the Internet, as we are all surrounded by articles in which famous make-up artists testify about some of the new drugstore liquid foundations being equal, if not better, than many high-end foundations available at the moment. Since I can’t wait to reveal it to you, Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation is definitely one of those foundations.

What does Maybelline say? Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation face makeup mattifies and refines pores whilst leaving a natural, seamless finish. Ideal for normal to oily skin, exclusive formula with micro-powders controls shine and blurs pores. Leaves a natural, seamless finish. It is oil-free, non-comedogenic, dermatologist and allergy tested.

As i approach my late thirties, my skin is normal, dehydrated, with an occasional T-zone shine. Fit Me Matte + Poreless is packaged in a practical plastic tube and I quite like its design and functionality. The foundation has no detectable scent. I kindly got sent 6 shades for a review, please note that the one ending with 5 has a rosy undertone, all other shades have a yellow undertone. Some of you with very light skin will probably want more lighter shades, but I did learn that it goes on lighter once you put it on.

The texture is quite liquid, a bit runny, spreads nicely and evenly with fingers, brush or sponge. You can sheer it out or put on 2-3 light layers, as desired, to achieve wanted coverage. I prefer to wear 2 light layers applied with my Real Techniques Face Expert Brush for medium coverage. It gives a wonderful finish: matte but not too matte, as it definitely lets your natural glow peek from within. Since I wear it without primer or loose powder on top, I believe it would be more matte and long-lasting if you prime and/or powder your face. It nicely hides my imperfections, but doesn’t look like a mask and is a wonderful choice for an everyday liquid foundation. I tested it for 10 hours and I must say that my T-zone starts to shine after 5-6 hours, but I just blot it and it looks fine afterwards as well. Fit Me Matte + Poreless lasts all day and reminds me of Chanel’s Perfection Lumiere Velvet, with a better coverage and less powdery look.

110 Porcelain, 115 Ivory, 120 Classic Ivory, 130 Buff Beige, 220 Natural Beige, 230 Natural Buff
Really oily girls will still prefer L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro Matte, as I might suspect this one to be slippery on a very oily face after a couple of hours, but some of my combination and normal skin girls have yearned for a foundation like this. However, take note if you are sensitive to alcohol. As far as I am concerned, matte medium finish that blurs pores and gives a fresh and natural look for less than 7 EUR? Count me in, this is truly a wonderful foundation for a great price. Have you tried it and what do you think of Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation?
